Good Run

With Western States 100 miler going on it was time to find the nearest trail and do some damage. So I went up to the La Quinta Cove. I hiked this trail a few months ago with my buddy Andrew but now it was time to pick up the pace. I started the 12 mile loop at 5:45AM. It is about 2 miles out to the mountain and then another 2 miles up. The whole time up I was thinking "Its too hot, maybe I should turn around and go back and do this when someone is with me. What if I fall over, who will find me?" I kept going and once to the top I was good to go. The trail had sucked me in. There was no turning back. The picture below was the part of the trail that goes across the top. It took me about 2:45 min to finish. Although this was no 100 miler it gave me the running fix I needed till next weekend.
