June Lake 2010
We went on vacation to June Lake with the whole family and had a great time. Every year it seems there are more members of the family. This year Zoey was the newest member on our June Lake tradition.

San Jacinto Peak Run
Well I could write tons about this run. Its was pretty fun. But I will just let the pics do their thing. Me and Jason took the tram to the top and then ran to San Jacinto Peak. We got to the top and back in about three hours, something about trail running gets you hooked. Elevation gain was about 2000ft. 5.5 miles up then 5.5 down.

Good Run
With Western States 100 miler going on it was time to find the nearest trail and do some damage. So I went up to the La Quinta Cove. I hiked this trail a few months ago with my buddy Andrew but now it was time to pick up the pace. I started the 12 mile loop at 5:45AM. It is about 2 miles out to the mountain and then another 2 miles up. The whole time up I was thinking "Its too hot, maybe I should turn around and go back and do this when someone is with me. What if I fall over, who will find me?" I kept going and once to the top I was good to go. The trail had sucked me in. There was no turning back. The picture below was the part of the trail that goes across the top. It took me about 2:45 min to finish. Although this was no 100 miler it gave me the running fix I needed till next weekend.
Visitors
Half of the Carbs (Gus and Kristin) came down to spend a day with Karen and hang out with Zoey. Kris made us a dinner that was great, thanks Kristin. Then Team Saki dropped in for a night. We cruised around the desert that was somewhat vacant because of the heat but, we had a great time regardless. Whether or not we are hanging out on the couch or out and about the Saki's are alway great company.
